Young Archers
Wells City Archers has a thriving Young Archers section.
It meets from 10.00 -12.00 every Saturday morning.
We welcome anyone from the age of 8 upwards who has completed an Archery GB Beginners Course.
Young Archers can join our Progression Programme which is based on World Archery’s Beginners Award Programme.
Our programme helps the club's Young Archers build on the skills and knowledge acquired on their Beginners Course in a structured framework. Badges are awarded when they have successfully completed each stage.
This also provides a useful structure and evidence for Young Archers that are using archery as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Award.
Every third Saturday we run a competition shoot for the Young Archers where they can shoot under competition conditions and work towards their Archery GB classification or a ‘252’ award, again with badges being awarded.
The Young Archers section is run by the Club’s coaching team and supported by a dedicated team of Supervisors.
Our Young Archers team has won the Somerset County Archery Association Winter Postal League for the past three consecutive years.
We run beginners courses specifically for young people
under the age of 17. So, please contact us if you’d like to learn more about a Beginners Course or joining our Young Archers section.
